Rental Policies

 The minimum age is 21 for all cars and the Maximum age is 70. An underage fee will apply for renters 21-24 of $5.00 USD per day. A Valid Driver’s license from country of residence is required. We accept all major credit cards, promote a smoke free policy, No penalty cancellation policy, fuel policy / return and rate structure.

DRIVER RESTRICTIONS/UNDERAGE SURCHARGE

Valid Driver’s license from country of residence required.
Additional drivers must meet the same requirements as the primary driver. Additional Driver fees may apply for all additional drivers. Check at the time of rental for complete details. – Renter’s Age 25 and younger to $250.00 Security deposit

CREDIT CARDS / SECURITY DEPOSIT

CruiseLin accepts American Express, Discover Card, Mastercard, Visa.  The minimum credit card hold is the total estimated cost of the rental plus the following depending on car group rented (see waivers for additional information): minimum cost is $300.00 USD and will not exceed $5,000.00 USD, Only authorize debit cards are accepted.

When you arrive at the branch to pick up your vehicle, we collect the full cost of the rental and a security deposit. The amount of the deposit will vary, based on the cost of the rental. Once you return the vehicle, the branch will refund your security deposit in full, unless there are additional unplanned charges – such as refueling surcharge, vehicle damage or a late return. The time it takes to receive your refund is based on the method of payment used to pay for your rental.

  • Credit Card attracts the full cost of the rental and the security deposit will be authorized on your card when you pick up your vehicle. When you return the vehicle, we immediately release the authorization and only charge your card the full amount of the rental.
  • Debit Card attracts the full cost of the rental and the security deposit will be charged to your checking account when you pick up your vehicle. Once the vehicle is returned, CruiseLin will refund your checking account the amount of the deposit. The time it takes to post the refund to your account will depend on your bank. Typically, you should see a refund in approximately 5 to 10 business days. If you do not see your refund after 10 business days, please call us, so we can review your charges with you.
  • Cash Payment will be refunded by a check and mailed to you within fifteen (15) business days after we confirm that there are no additional unplanned charges – like refueling surcharge, vehicle damage or late return.

If the refunded deposit was less than what you were expecting, you may have been charged for refueling, damages, or late return. The best way to find out WHY is to check your rental receipt or call us.

THESE FUNDS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR YOUR USE

SMOKE-FREE VEHICLES

We maintain a smoke-free environment for our facility and fleet. Special cleaning charges may apply for excessive odors and burns.

CANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY

  • We have a No Penalty Cancellation Policy. You will not be asked to pay any cancellation fees to decline our service
  • If you have already picked up your vehicle and wish to keep it longer; you must contact the location where you picked up the vehicle.
  • If you have not picked up your vehicle you can view, modify, or cancel your reservation by clicking here. When visiting this page, you will need to make sure all fields are filled out. If you fail to enter in your confirmation number, first name, and last name — the reservation will not be found. If you have entered in all this information correctly and still cannot modify your reservation, please contact us.
  • If you modify your pick-up or drop-off location, date or time, this may result in a change to your rates, taxes, surcharges, or underage fees. Please see your new rate quote when you verify your reservation.
  • If you did not prepay for your reservation, there will not be a cancellation fee.

 

If you prepaid for your vehicle, the following conditions would apply.

  • If you cancel your booking more than 1 day (24 Hours) before your  specified pick-up time, you will receive a full refund minus a cancellation fee of USD $35 / CAD $45
  • You will not be charged a cancelation fee if you cancel your reservation 7 days ahead of time.
  • If you cancel your booking less than 7 days, but at least 24 hours before your specified pickup time you will be refunded the booking amount minus a small cancellation fee. You will need to call 1 (888) 217-7672 to find out the exact cancellation fee.
  • If you cancel your booking in less than 24 hours before your specified pickup time, you will NOT be entitled to a refund.
  • If you fail to pick up your prepaid rental on the specified pick-up date, you will receive a full refund minus a no-show fee of USD $50 / CAD $65.
  • Possibly – rental rates can change daily so changing the dates or number of days may change the daily rate.
  • Reservations booked on a third-party website must be canceled through the third-party website. Reservations agents cannot change reservations booked on these websites nor can you cancel them on the CRUISELIN.com website. Please return to the website where you originally booked the reservation.

 

We will automatically refund a security deposit 5-10 business days after your trip ends, unless your host has sent a reimbursement invoice or filed a damage claim within those business days.

  • If you accept your host’s reimbursement invoice, we will use the security deposit to pay the invoice, and we will refund the balance, if any
  • If you dispute and / or your host escalates the reimbursement invoice to our support team, and we find that you are liable for the charge, we will use the security deposit to pay the invoice and refund you the balance, if any. If we find that you are not liable for the charge, we will refund your deposit in full.
  • If we find that you are liable for damage claim cost, we will use the deposit to cover the damage and refund you any remaining deposit amount. If we find that the claim is ineligible or that the host is responsible, we will refund the full deposit amount.

DELIVERY/COLLECTION OF VEHICLES

We provide free delivery and pickup within a one-mile radius of any branch location.

FUEL POLICY

A full tank of gas or half tank is provided at the time of the rental and the vehicle should be returned with a full tank of gas to avoid refueling surcharges. There are no refunds for unused gas.

RENTERS LIABILITY

The renter is liability for all Tolls, Traffic and Moving Violations charges. All such cost will be charged to the credit card on file at the time they are identified.

ITEMS LEFT IN VEHICLE

The Renter agrees that CruiseLin is NOT responsible for any property belonging to the Renter, left, stored or transported in the vehicle or anywhere on CruiseLin’s rental facilities even if the Renter’s property left, stored or transported in the vehicle or anywhere on CruiseLin’s rental facilities is stolen or damaged because of any act or default of CruiseLin.

RENTAL PERIOD CRUISELIN

One rental day is a period of 24 hours. If renter fails to return the vehicle on the due back date or within 24 hours following a written or oral demand to renter by CruiseLin, renter shall be deemed to be in possession of the vehicle unlawfully and CruiseLin may cause the issuance or a warrant for the arrest of renter or any other person who has the vehicle, and CruiseLin will report the vehicle as stolen. CruiseLin may repossess vehicle without first advising the Renter for the following reasons: –

  • If the vehicle is illegally parked.
  • If vehicle is used in violation of the law or of the rental agreement.
  • If the vehicle appears to be abandoned or is not returned to CruiseLin on the due back date.
  • Overdue charge ($10usd/ 1400jmd)

ACCIDENTS

In case of an accident the Renter must promptly report any accident involving the vehicle to CruiseLin at the renting location and to the police and should promptly deliver to CruiseLin at the renting location every document relating to any claim or legal action arising out of any accident and shall co-operate with CruiseLin and its insurers in the investigation and defence of any claim or legal action. The Renter will be required to complete an accident / loss report at the renting location within 24 hours of the incident. All daily charges will continue until Renter returns the vehicle, keys, completes and signs the accident / damage report.

The Renter is NOT authorized to repair vehicle

OPERATIONS OF VEHICLES

The vehicle must NOT be driven/operated by any person: –

  • Other than the Renter or any Additional Driver whose name is on the contract; or
  • Who is not a qualified, licensed driver holding a valid driver’s license and who is at least twenty-one (21) years old; or
  • Who has given CruiseLin any false or misleading information; or
  • Whose driving ability is impaired by intoxicating liquor or any other drug; or
  • Who is not sufficiently alert or capable of properly or safely driving the vehicle; or
  • To transport passengers or goods for reward; or
  • To transport hazardous or explosive substances; or
  • In any race, speed test, training, contest or for any illegal purpose; or
  • In an abusive, reckless or unlawful manner; or
  • Who leaves the keys in the vehicle or does not properly secure the vehicle; or
  • To propel, push or tow any vehicle, trailer or other object; or
  • In an off-road use (use on any road or other area that is not hard surfaced and regularly maintained); or
  • Who cannot properly drive a vehicle with a manual transmission (if the vehicle has a manual transmission); or
  • Who transports a greater number of passengers than permitted by law or
  • Who should recognize that further use of the vehicle will cause its damage (example: if there is a warning light on, or if any of the tires is defaulted, or if steam or smoke is being emitted from the engine) but continues to do so.

BREACH

All of the rights given to the Renter and all the obligations of CruiseLin Car Rental, under the Rental Agreement, including but not limited to Insurance coverage, are void if vehicle is used or operated in violation of the Agreement.
However it is herein mutually acknowledged that the Renter’s  obligations and the rights of CruiseLin remain valid and enforceable.If the Renter violates any term of the Agreement or fails to return the vehicle on the due back date or within 24 hours following a written or oral demand to Renter by CruiseLin, then the Renter shall be deemed to be in possession of the vehicle unlawfully and CruiseLin may cause the issuance or a warrant for the arrest of the Renter or any person who has the vehicle and CruiseLin will report the vehicle as stolen.
The Renter will be responsible for any loss that occurs due to driving, or being charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or reckless driving or being charged with reckless driving unless found not guilty of any charge
